From September 22nd – 26th, the 9th International Conference on Machine Learning, Optimization, and Data Science (LOD) was held in Grasmere, England.

In recent years, the LOD has gained recognition as a premier interdisciplinary conference on machine learning, computational optimization, data science, and artificial intelligence. We were pleased to have Fouad Bahrpeyma, present the result of his latest research on reinforcement learning for manufacturing systems at LOD 2023. This research titled “Application of multi-agent reinforcement learning to dynamic scheduling problems in manufacturing systems” is co-authored by David Heik and Dirk Reichelt and outlines a novel reinforcement learning-based approach to dynamic scheduling in manufacturing environments.
